About Me

I reside and work in San Francisco, though I've lived in the Bay Area (east bay) more than half my life. It's my home and what a great place to experience!

As a kid I loved riding my bike.. it all started when I was about 2 .. riding on the back of my mom's bike, carrying her packages on the way home from the store. Then my first tricycle when I was three, to the yellow banana seat bike with training wheels when I was five. Then I turned ten, and got my blue ten speed and rode all over the neighborhood! Then a few years past, I turned sixteen and came the driver's license and cycling fell by the wayside. It wasn't until college that I got back on a bike and rode a few miles on the bike paths.

I first became aware of AIDS Lifecycle when a couple of my coworkers announce their fundraising efforts for the event. I thought "there's no way I could ever do that!" Well in the summer of 2003, when my coworkers returned from ALC2, I asked them what their experience was like .. as they told me their stories, they both expressed so much positive energy and excitement that i thought, "maybe I should give this a try!" I had been looking for a way to give back to the community and take on some big personal challenge. So I signed up for ALC3. What an experience it was! The year training and the event itself challenged me in many ways, but I found many new strengths as well as made many new lifetime friendships. AIDS Lifecycle made me rediscover my childhood love if cycling.

Since that first ride, I have continued to ride throughout the year; taking part in rides all over California. There's no better way to see this great countryside!

When I'm not riding, I work in the city as a graphic designer at a large publishing firm. I design book covers and jackets. I also take on freelance projects occasionally as well. My creativity expands into my hobbies as well .. for almost as long as I have love riding bikes, I have loved photograpghy too. I am inspired my nature and architecture. It is a dream of mine to one day have my work in a gallery. I also love art, movies, exploring the city's unique neighborhoods, hiking and cooking. I love to try new recipes and entertain with friends. Hence, another reason I love to ride .. gotta burn off those calories!
